NORMAN (nee KIELEY) Bernice Margaret

-

July 10, 1938 to April 24, 2020 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing at home, on her own terms as always, of Bernice Margaret Norman (nee Kieley) on Friday, April 24th, 2020 at the age of 81 years; beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful friend. Predeceased by husband Cyril “Mick”, parents Jack and Bessie Kieley, brothers Joey (Cecile), Lar (Janie), and John (Joan), sisters Mary Duke (Jack) and little Mary, daughter-in-law Michele (Mike), brothers-in-law: John, Lar, Fred, Pat and his wife Elta, sisters-inlaw Sade Tibbo (Johnny) and Mary Cole (Gerald). Leaving to celebrate her life and thank her dearly for her tireless effort and love, are her five children: Barry (Anita), Fred (Tracey), Mike, Greg (Val), and Jackie; grandchildren: Zachary, Alexandra, Kristen, Carter, and Kieley; brothers Michael, Jimmy (Mary), and Gussie; sister Patsy Howlett (Robert); sister-inlaw Theresa Williams (Charles) as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, and friends. Bernice had a lifelong passion for gardening, and she was often seen out by her door every spring and summer as she carefully tended to every flower, bush, and tree. She was also an avid reader and if a book was not in her hand, then it was resting nearby. More than both of these however, was her love for her children and grandchildren who she always had time for no matter what else was happening in her life. Every Sunday (at precisely noon) she served Jiggs dinner for her large and growing family; keeping everybody close and involved in each other’s’ lives. This will be her legacy that will continue long after her passing. Special thanks to the Palliative Care team for making her last months at home as comfortable and easy as possible. Cremation has taken place. Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to The Children’s Wish Foundation. Our lives go on without you, But nothing is the same. We have to hide our heartaches, When someone speaks your name. Sad are the hearts that love you, Silent the tears that fall. Living our lives without you, Is the hardest part of all. You did so many things for us, Your heart was kind and true. And when we needed someone, We could always count on you. The special years will not return, When we were all together. But with the love within our hearts, You will walk with us forever
