David’s family is deeply saddened to announce that David John Oliver, 54, passed away at his home in Calgary, Alberta on April 22, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer. David was born on January 22, 1966, In St. John’s, NL, and predecease­d by his parents David F. Oliver and Ruby J. Oliver (nee Rollings) of St. John’s. David is survived by his daughter Stephanie (David) Zanin, and his two grandchild­ren, Kalix and Kayden Zanin; his sister Debbie Oliver (Brenda O’reilly) and brothers Tony Oliver (Tish Coleman) and Paul Oliver; along with his three nephews Alex Marshall, Adam Marshall and Benjamin Oliver; many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins from the Oliver and Rollings families, friends, and others whose lives David touched. Special thanks and appreciati­on to David’s cousin Cindy Rollings, who was always a constant, loving presence for him during very difficult times, and to Stephanie’s Mom, Lynn Sturge Myra (Randy), for her kindness and generosity for many years. David will always be remembered for his carefree spirit, eagerness to always lend a hand, and his love for his family. He loved living in the moment and would always remind others to “never wish time away.” Following a reception and viewing in Calgary on Sunday, May 3, cremation will take place in Calgary. A celebratio­n of David’s life will take place in St. John’s at a date to be determined when safer to do so. David will then be laid to rest with his Mom and Dad at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in St. John’s. Godspeed David. We will always love you and hold your memory in our hearts. May you rest in Eternal Peace.
