ST. CROIX Josephine (Coombs) (1935 – 2020)

- “Mothers hold their children’s hands for a while but their hearts forever”

It is with great sadness and love we announce the passing of our dear Mom, Nan (Great-nan). She is predeceased by husband Austin, sons Kerry and Joseph, son-in-law Brendan and beloved siblings and lifelong friends. Left with cherished memories are Des (Kathleen), Myra (Loyola), Melvin (Brenda), Elaine (Keith), Sharmaine (Mark), Glenyase (Joe), Matt (Teresa), Melinda (Kevin) and Wanda. She also leaves behind her Pride & Joy, her Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. Her siblings Mike (Rose), Peggy (Willie), Herbert (Violet). As well her three best friends Kay Harding, Kay Ryan and Aggie Walsh. We would like to thank Father Peter for his many years of friendship and support with Mom. Rest assured she appreciated every call and visit. We would like to thank the medical teams who provided exceptional care both in Newfoundland and Ontario. Mom’s life was challenging but she faced it with a smile, a sense of humour and her incredible strength. We felt her unconditional love but many times her ultimate goal was to make us laugh, which she did right to the end. Mom touched so many people because when you met her, she immediately embraced you with her easy-going ways. Her knitting needles, bingo dabber and deck of cards may be resting but when we see them, we will remember so many happy times.

“Love Always” – Your family.

Cremation has taken place and funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Janeway Telethon in honour of Mom’s love of children. Condolences, tributes and donations may be made at: www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
