CONNORS Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ M. (Mcgrath)

December 17, 1933 June 2, 2020 Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Connors, 86 years, entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, June 2nd at the Health Science Centre in the presence of her loving daughter Virginia. She was the youngest of ten children to Patrick and Elizabeth (Dalton) Mcgrath of Patrick’s Cove, Placentia Bay. In her early years, Lizzie worked at The Bellevista Country Club and the old General Hospital. In 1955 she married Lawrence Connors of Pouch Cove. In addition to raising five children, she worked parttime at Ayre and Sons, Mt. Scio Savoury Farm, and then full-time for 17 years at the Hoyles Home, where she retired in 1992. Predecease­d and reunited with her husband of 65 years, Lawrence (June 5, 2019); her parents, her sisters, Genevieve (Ignatius Mcgrath), Irene (Reg Jenkins), Sister Margaret Mcgrath (Presentati­on Sister), Rita (William Evans); her brothers, Leo (Marion), Kevin, Jim, Bernard and Richard (Daphne); sister-inlaw, Stella O’toole (Will); brothers-in-law, Jerome, Bernard (Helen), Augustus ‘Gus’ (Mary), and Patrick ‘Paddy’ (Theresa). She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Agnes Auchinleck and Virginia Connors and three sons, Gabriel (Wanda), Darren (Tina) and Larry (Heather), her seven grandchild­ren, Corinne, Lynn Anne, Paul (Tanya), Cheryl (Woody), Patrick, Victoria and Brandon, and six great-grandchild­ren, Summer, Claire, Emma, Alexander, Liam and Ethan, and her little furry friend, Misty. Also leaving to mourn are sisters-in-law, Marie Mcgrath (Bernard, deceased) and Gladys Richards (Greg); many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends, including the residents and staff at North Pond Manor. Thank you to Dr. A. Laurie and the staff at North Pond Manor, especially Paula Burke who always lifted Mom’s spirits and brightened her days. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic restrictio­ns, a private family viewing will be held prior to cremation, followed by a private family inurnment at St. Agnes Cemetery, Pouch Cove.
