PIKE Marilyn (nee Fitzgerald)

-

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Marilyn Pike (nee Fitzgerald) at the age of 65 on Tuesday, June 2nd at the Health Science Center ICU after a short illness surrounded by her family. She is predeceased by her mother Edna G. Fitzgerald (nee Burton) and her father Felix Fitzgerald. Left to mourn and celebrate her wonderful life are her best friend and husband Dale, her son Matthew (Lindsay) and her sweet and precious grandson Hayden. She also leaves behind her siblings John (Cathy) Fitzgerald, sisters Carol (Jim) Eustace and Arlene Cake, her large extended family of brothers and sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many friends. We would like to thank the hospital staff at the Health Sciences Center ICU for their kindness, support, and care during this difficult time. Marilyn was a kind-hearted and caring person, always greeting you with her welcoming smile, a warm hug, and her effervescent spirit. Two of her most cherished pleasures of life were spending a day with her grandson Hayden and a saunter in the woods with her best friend surrounded by the smells and sounds of the fur trees in the wind. She will be dearly missed but has left behind many wonderful memories for her family to treasure. Due to restrictions imposed by COVID-19, a private memorial service will take place. Care is entrusted to Carnell’s Funeral Home on Freshwater Road, Friday June 5th at 11 a.m. Condolences may be made at the Carnell’s website and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Adoption Council of Canada.
