Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving and devoted family at the PCU Dr. L.A. Miller Centre, on Saturday, June 20, 2020, Herbert E. Carter, age 84 years. Predecease­d by his parents, Kenneth and Blanche (nee Baker) Carter; brothers: Charles (Sarah), Kenneth (Joan), Gordon, Alexander; sisters: Patricia Ann, Josephine (Ben), Grace, Laura; parents-in-law, Francis and Phoebe Kenny; brothers-in-law, Desmond (Jo) Kenny, Austin, Gus; sister-in-law, Sheila (Burge) Connolly. Leaving to mourn with a wealth of treasured memories, his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Norma M. M. (Brenda (nee Kenny)); cherished children: Norma Cove (John) (ab), Barry (Nancy) (on), Dwaine (Joanne) (petty Harbour), Pam Rickert (Barry) (paradise), Sandy (Vanessa) (pasadena); precious grandchild­ren: Chad (April) (ab), RJ Duke (Paradise), Kyle and Jillian Cove (AB), Brittany and Brandon Carter (ON), Rebecca and Brian Carter (Petty Harbour), Brandon, Logan and Jacob (Corner Brook); great-grandchild­ren: Harlow and Cruz (AB); brothers: Fred (St. John’s), Ben (Sandra) (us); sister, Barbara Snow (BOB) (ON); sisterin-law, Elizabeth Carter (ON), Olive Carter, Ann Rowe (George), Anita Kenny and Aileen Kenny (St. John’s); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends – all whom were blessed to know him and will miss him dearly. Special thank you to Dr. Jonathan Greenland, Dr. Stewart Rorke, Nurses and staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Centre; Dr. Heidi Brake, Dr. Cliona Mcmanaman, the Community Health Nurses, and all of the Nurses, volunteers and staff at PCU Dr. L.A. Miller Centre – including Father Tony Bidgood and Canon Iliffe Sheppard, for all of the compassion and care given to Herbert and our family. You will never be forgotten. At Herbert’s request, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering and interment will take place at a later date. As expression­s of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the SPCA, Saint Vincent de Paul – Corpus Christi Conference or a charity of one’s choice.
