DOLLARD BRENT

-

It is with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts that the Dollard family announce the sudden passing of Brent Dollard. Brent, age 56, passed away after a short illness on June 19, 2020, surrounded by loving family members. Brent was born in Stephenville, NL on October 28, 1963 to Ignatius Dollard and Edna (Doucette), both deceased. After graduating high school, Brent moved to Toronto to become an electrical engineer. After working in Toronto for many years he moved to Halifax to start up the Atlantic Canada Branch of the international company, Omron. He remained with Omron until they moved their head office to the US and closed out the Canadian distributors. He then started Hitek Marketing, Inc. Brent lived and worked in Halifax for the last 32 years but his heart was in Newfoundland & Labrador where he would return many times a year to visit friends and family, golf, and go snowmobiling with his brother, Terry. His love of lobster and scallops was legendary and he made a mean seafood chowder. Brent only had to walk into a room and his smile and laugh became contagious. There was no sitting around a table without laughter. His gentle and loving spirit and great sense of humour are what has endeared him to all who knew and loved him. There are no words to describe how his presence will be missed on this earth. He was cherished by many. Father to Cindy and “great hockey Dad” to Matthew; grandfather to two beautiful granddaughters, Debra and Kassidy; and fiancé to Wanda Dixon; loving brother to Norma Laflamme (Mario); Maureen Dollard; Terry Dollard (Cynthia); Glenda Fortuna (Lou), and Wanda Dollard (Mike Coles); and loving uncle to his nieces and nephews – Justin, Mikey, Jordan, Jeremy, Caitlin, Simone, Brandon and Kendall. His Aunt Millie and cousin, Maureen Taylor, held a very big space in his heart. There are many aunts and uncles and cousins on both the Dollard and Doucette side, as well as friends throughout Canada, whose life Brent has graced and who will miss him dearly. There will be a service at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, NS, by invitation only on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 2 p.m. The ceremony will be available virtually as well by using the following link. https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffsions/15344/wait In lieu of flowers make someone smile today. That’s what Brent would have wanted. A Celebration of Life will be held in Stephenville, NL at a future date to be determined To place an online condolence please visit: www.jasnowfuneralhome.com
