Beulah Mercer

-

“There are certain people who touch the lives of those they know in a very special way. Knowing them brings us joy and inspiration and when they’re gone, the memories of their warm guiding presence stay with us .... ” Beulah was one of those people to us. We feel blessed to have had such a wonderful woman in our lives.

Thank you to all our relatives and friends who so thoughtfully reached out to comfort and support us during the passing of a beloved wife of Lewis “Buck” (d. 1993), mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister of Greta Mercer (d. 1989) and Harvey Russell (d. 2000), Beulah May Mercer, Feb. 14, 1932 - Feb. 20, 2020.

We gratefully acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy through written words of condolences, cards, telephone calls, flowers, gifts of food, visits to the funeral home, donations made in her memory to the BT SPCA and Grace United Church.

Thank you to Rev. Linda Pike, Rev. Donna Mercer (daughter-in-law), musicians Florence Littlejohn, Shirley Bowering and others, Grace United Church Choir, duet singers Karen Petten and Jack Badcock, readers Jennifer Mercer and Doug Russell, sons Randy and Byron for being urn bearers. All of you contributed to a beautiful celebration and thanksgiving of her life. Also, to the church members who so graciously prepared the food for the reception following the service.

To Slade’s Funeral Home, your dignified and professional service is greatly appreciated. To staff of 2nd floor south of Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion for Mom’s care for the last year and a half and to staff of Callingwood Downs for many years of caring for Mom - Thank you.

We trust you will understand that we find it impossible to thank everyone individually and hope you will accept this as a personal thank you. We will always remember your friendship, kindness and support at a time when it was needed. We are and always will be grateful. God bless you all.

“God knew you were suffering, He knew you were in pain, He knew you never would get well in this world again. He saw the road was getting rough, The hills were hard to climb, He closed your weary eyes, And whispered peace be thine”.
