HEFFERTON Robert George

It is with very heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Robert George Hefferton, in High River, Alberta, on July 08, 2020. Born on August 3rd, 1943, in St. John’s Newfoundland, Robert is predeceased by his parents, Laura and Walter Hefferton. Left to mourn the loss of his lively spirit are his wife, Maureen; children Lesley Hefferton ( Isaac ), Gillian Hefferton ( Gary ), Robyn Hauck ( Shawn ), and their mother, Elaine Brown. As well, his grandchildren, Samuel, Julian, Helaina and Dexter; brother Derrick Hefferton ( Christine ); sister Kathryn Sellars ( Douglas ); nieces Kristen, Hahne, Sophia and nephew Douglas. Bob will also be missed by his colleagues and good friends, around the globe. Robert was a zealous business man and traveller. As stated by his dear friend, Brian Campbell, Robert saw the world, savoured its beauty, and enjoyed sharing it with others. He was passionate about current affairs, globe-trotting, the past, the future, politics, good food, cars, his Newfoundland genealogy, outdoor activities, books, and music...which he usually enjoyed with his headphones on, while enjoying a glass of fine scotch. A proud father, brother and uncle, Robert was always encouraging. He was sure that, with enough determination, we could accomplish anything that we desired. He would also be the first to celebrate those accomplishments with us. His laughter, stories, loyalty and writing will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Cremation has taken place , with a private celebration of his life planned for July 16th, in Calgary, Alberta.
