1942-2021 It is with profound sorrow that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Frederick James (Jim) Greenland just 12 days before his 79th birthday on Saturday, April 17, 2021. Jim was predecease­d by his mother and father Susie (nee Mercer) and Hayward Greenland; mother and father-in-law: William (Bill) and Eileen (nee Thorne) Andrews; sister: Glenys (Greenland) Curtismcqu­inn; brothers-in-law: Glenn and Robert Andrews and his fur-buddy Nuggett. Jim leaves to mourn with a life time of memories his loving and devoted wife of 56 plus years, Judy (nee Andrews);his pride and joy, his children: Frederick (Wanda) Nova Scotia and Michael (Carolyn) St. John’s; and daughter: Lauralei (Wayne) Fost; his precious granddaugh­ters: Tara Greenland (Becca) St. John’s and Courtney Greenland (Justin) Nova Scotia; his great grandson his “little man”: Hayden Greenland, Nova Scotia; brother Robert Greenland (Marg), Clarenvill­e; brothers and sisters-in-law: Harry and Ruby Andrews Blaketown, Wayne and Holly Andrews St. John’s, Beverly and Robin Moore St. John’s, Debbie and Rick Brown Mt. Pearl and Betty Andrews St. John’s; and all of Jim’s open mic buddies from St. John’s, C.B.S. and C.B.N, plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Jim was a man with a heart bigger that the universe and will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor and his God given gift of his singing voice and love of music. Jim’s biggest love after his family was his love for children and dogs. His participat­ion in the many organizati­ons he was involved in such as Provincial Chair of the Children’s wish Foundation, The Shriners, Masons (St. Andrew’s Lodge), Kinsmen, K-40, and past chair of the Frosty Festival, Mount Pearl for 6 plus years. Jim was a wonderful loving husband, father, grandfathe­r and great grandfathe­r. He was extremely proud of Fred, Lauralei and Michael and he loved them dearly. God has now added another Angel to his “Heavenly Choir”. As expression­s of sympathy donations may be made in Jim’s memory to The Children’s Wish Foundation (Make a Wish), The Shriners Sick Children’s Hospital or The Ronald Mcdonald House.
