Public Health reported four new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday.

In a news release, Public Health officials said all four cases are in the Eastern Health region. Two are related to travel in Canada, one is related to travel outside Canada and the other is under investigation.

There are no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the ship anchored in Conception Bay where 13 crew are confirmed COVID-19 positive.

Public Health also announced a possible exposure to COVID-19.

“Passengers who travelled on Air Canada Flight 678 that departed Montreal and arrived in St. John’s on Saturday, May 1 are advised to arrange COVID-19 testing,” the news release stated.

Public Health said the case reported on Friday, April 23 in the Western Health region remains under investigation.

Public Health also warned rotational workers of an exposure at the Baffinland Mary River mine in Nunavut.

Workers with the project who have returned to Newfoundland and Labrador in the last 14 days must arrange testing and complete the full 14-day self-isolation period, regardless of test result.

There were four new recoveries in the province as of Tuesday, pushing the total number of recoveries to 1,042.

There are 56 active cases of COVID-19 in the province — 32 in the Eastern Health region, 12 in the Western Health region, 10 in the Central Health region and two in the Labrador-grenfell health region. Two people are in hospital.
