FRASER, Anita (Nee Shea)

Anita Fraser RN (retired), aged 88, passed peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s on May 2, 2021. Predecease­d by her parents, Michael A. Shea and Ellen Shea (nee Evans); her four siblings, Dermot Shea (Madonna), Joan Sparrow (Robert), Mary Bromley (Patrick), and Bernadette Shea; and her daughter, Dianne Smith QC (Harold). Left to remember her fondly, her sons Dr. David Fraser (Ontario), Ian Fraser (British Columbia), Glenn Fraser (Ontario), and Dr. Scott Fraser (United Kingdom); many loving grandchild­ren; her niece Gillian Sparrow (Terry) and grandniece Allison Anderson (Tom), who provided support and comfort to Anita throughout her illness; as well as many other nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. Anita will be remembered as a proud graduate of the 1953B Nursing Class at the General Hospital School of Nursing, and a caring resident of 25 Tiffany Lane. To the end, both of these communitie­s were of great importance to her, and her love of connection and people were evident in both. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 7 at 2PM from The Carnell Memorial Chapel, with internment to follow at Belvedere Roman Catholic Cemetery. The service will be live streamed for those who cannot attend. The link will be available at www. carnells.com.
