It is with great sadness, but with tremendous gratitude for the matriarch of our family, we announce the sudden passing of a dear wife, loving mother, grandmothe­r, great grandmothe­r, sister, aunt and friend, Ella Button, on Sunday, May 23, 2021, age 78 years. Predecease­d by her parents, Fred and Marjorie Baker, father in-law, Edmund Button, brother, Garland Baker, sisters in-law, Verletta Baker (Kelloway) and Geraldine Baker (Mercer). Leaving to mourn with cherished memories are her husband of 56 years, Byron, daughters, Arlene (Bob) Riche, Colleen (Kevin) Button-martin, Andrea (Bill) Lawlor, adored and much loved grand-children, Benjamin (Jennifer) Riche, Jacob (Cassie) Riche, Caitlin Martin, Chelsea Martin, Peyton Lawlor and precious great grand-son, Isaac Riche. Mother in-law, Evangeline Button. Brother, Chesley (Judy) Baker, sisters in-law, Ruth (Don) Baker, Doreen (Bill) Whalen, Sharon (Lorne) Stokes. Nephews and nieces, Craig Baker, Scott (Ellen) Baker, Heidi (Andy) Patey, Kerry (Jim) Whalen and daughter Madison, Nicole (Frank) Fontaine and son Samuel, and an extended family of cousins and friends. Always putting her family ahead of herself, Ella, despite her battle with serious illnesses, lived a life of strength, quiet dignity and faith. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonweal­th Ave., Mt. Pearl on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-9:00 p.m. Covid – 19 restrictio­ns in place. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 from Barrett’s Mt.
