WRIGHT (nee Branton), Patricia (Pat)

-

Pat Wright (nee Branton) lived a full life and will be remembered for all that she gave to her family, friends and community. She was born in Portsmouth, England in 1933 and came to Newfoundland in 1967 with husband and artist Don Wright (1931-88). Ever mindful of where she could offer her strengths and support to enrich the lives of others, she opened a delightful toy shop Children’s World; was co-founder of the first parent-run preschool Children’s Centre; worked as Early Childhood Educator specializing in early child art; was an actor with the Open Group; instigated the establishment of family resource centres in the province, was a dedicated volunteer and advocate with Seniors NL. Pat was an avid reader, arts appreciator and supporter with particular love of choral and chamber music. A devoted Gran and mother, Pat is missed by grandsons Eliot Wright (Liz Wright), Kevin Wright (Beth Tucker) and Benjamin Wright, son Tom Wright (Deborah Hartery) and daughter Catherine Wright (Len Sperry), stepson Perry Wright (Nywyn), stepdaughter Krista Taskey, sister-in-law Elaine Wright, Jack Eastwood, Shelley Dinur, Renee Wright, special friends Capps family, Moyra Buchan, Sharon Buehler, Kris Colwell and many others. A special thank you to Dr. Tompkins. Visitation takes place at Barrett’s (Hamilton Ave) Thursday, June 17 from 2-4 and 7-9. A celebration of Pat’s life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tuckamore Festival.
