Can Blue Jays fans crack 700,000 hot dogs in 2024?

-

Hot dog! The boys of summer are back.

Baseball is set to kick off another season and that means one thing for Toronto Blue Jays fans: Prepare to stuff your faces.

Coming off the back of a 693,865-hot dog season, Jays fans have a tough task ahead to better their mark from 2023, but with Loonie Dogs Night back again every Tuesday, the 700,000 mark is in reach.

Bring a friend to the concession stand on Tuesdays so you don’t leave disappointed as there is a note on the team website: Due to demand, you may be limited to 4 Loonie Dogs per transaction.

Four dogs per transaction, are we training for the Olympics or something?

Fans looking to throw down a few Davis Schneiders while they watch the games will have plenty of options. If you aren’t tied to the Loonie Dog, there are plenty of other gas-inducing gastronomic dog and sausage varieties available at Rogers Centre.

Fifteen to be exact, including the Canadian Caesar Hot Dog and the Signature Poutine Hot Dog.

Speaking of poutine, there are five versions of that Canadian staple on the menu.

With the Jays beginning the season with a 10-game trip, fans will be playing ketchup when the team arrives home if they hope to have a career year at the dish.

The first Loonie Dog night of the season is April 9 vs. the Seattle Mariners.

Jays fans aren’t fans of latest hoodie design that chops off logo

Last month, the Blue Jays teased the City Connect uniforms they will be sporting this season, though it’s still unknown if they will be rocking the black throwback jerseys pitcher Chris Bassitt wants.

Shortly after, MLB’S new uniform pants were released and it’s safe to say that it didn’t go over well with the players given how seethrough they were.

Fanatics founder Michael Rubin defended his company, saying it was being unfairly blamed for the sheerness of the pants, along with other fit and design problems.

But will he double down and stand by the latest Jays hoodie, which is being slammed by fans?

A post on a Toronto Blue Jays Reddit page shows a black team hoodie now available on Fanatics.ca.

At first glance, the sweater looks pretty decent, with a blue lining around the neck to match the hood’s drawstrings, along with fun details on the sleeves including a red maple leaf, various Jays logos and the signature birdie.

But it’s that bird that many are fired up about — not the one on the sleeve but the logo that is cut in half by the front kangaroo pocket.

“Gotta love Fanatics quality,” the Redditor captioned the image, while another called it a “f***ing embarrassment.”
