It is with profound sadness that the family of Janice Walsh (nee Hand) announce her passing on Friday, April 19, 2024, at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, at the age of 84, surrounded by her loving family. Janice will be remembered for her love of dancing especially the jive with her favourite partner Jim, her sense of humour, and her enjoyment of family occasions. Predeceased by her parents, Robert and Edith Hand, brother, John, sister, Carol, sisters in law, Shirley and Bernice, and brothers in law, John, Al, Josh, Jim and Andre. Leaving to mourn with many loving memories her husband of 64 years, James Walsh; children, Michael (Anne Hatcher), Amanda (Dean Grant), Rory (Madonna Williams); grandchildren, Felicia (Evan Masarovich), Dean (Jessica Grant), Beth (Josh Chaffey) and Lia (Brandon Kelly); great-grandchildren, Joseph and Hazel Masarovich; siblings, Elaine, Marjorie (Gary), Bob (Rosemary) Mary (Bruce), Dorothy (Jim), Pearce (Bonnie), Ed, Paul (Linda), Donna (Steve), Ken (Debbie), Tony (TW), Cathy (Wayne) and Noel (Wanda); brothers in law, Michael, Darrel (Mary), Sean (Sue), Spencer (Beverly); sisters in law, Gail, Michele and Geraldine; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special thank you to Cathy for her selfless dedication and attention to the care and well-being of Janice over the last several years. Visitation on Tuesday, April 23rd from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, April 24th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Teresa's Parish, Mundy Pond Road, with interment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dr. Jack Hand Legacy Foundation.
