Left-turn lane would help Geneva Street

-

There is no reason to modify the northbound lanes on Geneva Street, since there are plainly seen painted lines for drivers to follow. Those of us who travel the route every day are perfectly fine with the northbound lanes.

The problem is with the southbound lanes, and banning a left-hand turn onto Carlton Street is just going to cause more confusion. There are probably two or three in every 10 cars that make that left-hand turn and thus hold up the traffic going straight.

What we need there is a left-hand turning lane, and there’s room to make that happen. With that, the traffic light should have green lights with left turn arrows for traffic going south, same as they have now for going north.

Traffic would flow so much better. Marge Brown St. Catharines
