MAKE MUSIC VANCOUVER

Stroll through Gastown and be serenaded by some 150 bands and musicians performing every genre of music imaginable, from classical to punk to neo-tribalism. Some bands may be familiar: the Balkin brass band Orkestar Šlivovica, pictured, and reggae soulmates the Unified are both fun party bands. Others, like Oryk Chili, a trio of nomadic salsa-R&B lovers, could become new friends. Completely volunteer-run, it’s free music by the community for the community. June 24, 5-10 p.m. | Gastown
