Most travellers to Morocco arrive in the port city of Tangiers after a short 14-km ferry crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar from Spain. The Marrakech Express leaves Tangiers daily for an 11-hour train trip through Casablanca to the medieval town of Marrakech located in central Morocco. Cars can be rented in Marrakech for the weeklong trip to the desert villages of the Western Sahara.
