Thomas wins CIMB Classic

Justin Thomas completed a fairy tale return to the CIMB Classic with a successful title defence after eight birdies in the final round Sunday earned him a three-shot victory over closest rival Hideki Matsuyama in the PGA Tour stop. Adam Hadwin (70) of Abbotsford, B.C., tied for 21st at 11-under par. David Hearn (68) of Brantford, Ont., tied for 66th, at even par. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Australian Minjee Lee won the Blue Bay LPGA. Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ont. finished eighth at 3-under par. Hamilton’s Alena Sharp tied for 37th and Maude-Aimee Leblanc of Sherbrooke tied for 64th at 14 over.
