Honda Passport: More Capable, More Style

-

TORRANCE, Calif.: From muddy trails to the open road, the 2024 Honda Passport is even more adventurous with improved off-road performance, updated styling and a more versatile interior.

The enhanced Passport TrailSport is the most rugged, off-road capable Passport ever with a new off-road tuned suspension and trail-ready all-terrain tires. At the top of the Passport lineup, a new Black Edition takes the midsize SUV’s style to new heights with a more aggressive design, inside and out, and even more premium comfort features than the extremely well-equipped Elite trim it replaces.

For additional comfort and functionality, all 2024 Passports benefit from a new wider center console with a large, newlyintegrated armrest and expanded storage. The center-console storage bin can now swallow a full-size tablet, and an improved storage tray ahead of the shifter is large enough to accommodate two large smartphones, side by side.

“Honda has offered weekend adventurers durable and capable SUVs like Passport for more than two decades, and our new TrailSport models continue to advance the off-road capability engineered into our rugged light trucks,” said Lance Woelfer, assistance vice president of Honda National Auto Sales, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “Every new Honda TrailSport variant, including the enhanced 2024 Passport TrailSport, builds on our legacy of adventure and off-road performance, while retaining excellent on-road dynamics.”

Arriving in dealerships this fall, the 2024 Passport can be uniquely customized with an expanded line of Genuine Honda Accessories that includes underbody protection to take Passport’s rugged capability even further. Passport’s revised line of postproduction option packages now includes a second HPD Package designed in collaboration with Honda Performance Development (HPD), Honda’s U.S.-based racing company. The new HPD+ package adds to Passport’s rugged appearance with a unique grille treatment, black fender flares and aggressive 20-inch wheels.

Enhanced Passport TrailSport Created for active buyers who thrive on adventure, the new Passport TrailSport backs up its rugged styling with more offroad capability than ever before. A new off-road tuned suspension, exclusive to the Passport TrailSport, features revised spring rates, enhanced damper valve tuning and optimized stabilizer bars for increased articulation and improved off-road ride quality without sacrificing Passport’s exceptional on-road comfort and best-in-class handling.

Passport’s first-ever application of all-terrain tires take the rugged capabilities of the Passport TrailSport even further. Extremely capable and durable on the trail, standard General Grabber™ A/ Tx tires (245/60R18) substantially improve TrailSport’s traction in dirt, sand, mud, rocky terrain and snow, but remain quiet and comfortable on the road. Machined 18-inch wheels with Pewter painted highlights are unique to the Passport TrailSport, increasing its front and rear track widths by 10 mm to improve stance and stability.

Tuned and tested in some of the world’s most challenging off-road environments, including Imperial Dunes “Glamis,” California and Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Honda’s innovative i-VTM4™ torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system expands Passport’s off-road capability well beyond its crossover-based competition.

Standard on all Passports, the i-VTM4™ system enhances controllability and traction management in all conditions, automatically sending up to 70% of the engine’s torque to the rear wheels and continuously apportioning 100% of that torque between the rear wheels based on driving conditions at each wheel.

In off-road situations, iVTM4™ will continue to route torque where it provides the most benefit, helping maintain traction and stability in mud and deep sand. It even works in extreme conditions, such as when one rear wheel is off the ground, by sending power to the wheel in contact with the ground to pull Passport through and ensure momentum.

For additional control, Passport’s standard four-mode Intelligent Traction Management allows drivers to customize the iVTM4™ system for different terrains, including sand, snow, mud and paved roads.

With an ample 8.1 inches of ground clearance, Passport can navigate tough trails, and its 5,000-pound towing capacity allows it to pull a large camper trailer or off-road toys.

Exclusive to TrailSport models, a new available Diffused Sky Blue paint color, which debuted on the all-new 2024 Pilot TrailSport, highlights its rugged design and adventurous spirit. For narrow trails, Passport TrailSport features power folding mirrors. A heated windshield wiper parking area keeps the wipers from getting stuck in frigid conditions.

TrailSport’s cabin stands out with orange contrast stitching on the steering wheel, door panels and seats, with the TrailSport logo embroidered on the front seat head restraints and molded onto its standard all-season rubber floor mats. Intuitive, easy-touse technology is smartly integrated, including standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto™ compatibility, Qi-compatible wireless charging and four USBC charging ports.

With class-leading passenger and cargo space (50.5 cu.-ft. of

PassVpoOrt cargo space), plenty of room for everyone and their gear.

The Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies is standard on every Passport, including the TrailSport. On Passport, Honda Sensing® includes Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). A rear seat reminder and rear seatbelt reminder are also standard across the lineup.

New Passport Black Edition The new Black Edition trim features exclusive exterior and interior styling enhancements that distinguish it from the rest of the Passport family. Available in Crystal Black Pearl, the new topof-the-line trim is also available in Sonic Gray, Platinum White and Radiant Red. For a premium, upscale look every Passport Black Edition includes blackpainted 20-inch alloy wheels, blackout treatments for the grille, headlight trim, side trim, door handles, window trim and fog light accents and Black Edition badges on the grille and tailgate.

Inside, the Black Edition’s upscale look and feel continues with exclusive features and styling enhancements, including ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and red-accented perforated leather seating. The Black Edition is the only Passport trim with red contrast stitching on the steering wheel, seats and door panels, and red accent lighting illuminating the dash, doors and center console. The Black Edition logo is embossed on the front seats and floor mats.
