NDP and Bloc Protect Trudeau From Carbon Tax Election

-

Just now, the NDP and Bloc Quebecois voted to save Justin Trudeau from a carbon tax election. They don’t care about Canadians, they care about protecting Trudeau’s failing political career. And thanks to the Liberals, NDP and Bloc, Trudeau is still set to hike his carbon tax by 23 cents per litre on April 1st, driving up the cost of everything. This tax hike is coming at the worst possible time. After eight years of Trudeau’s inflationary spending and taxes, Canadians are struggling. The NDP and the Bloc had a chance to listen to their constituents and bring some desperately needed relief this week on two occasions. They could have voted for a Common Sense Conservative motion Wednesday to spike the hike, but they didn’t. And today, they could have voted to give Canadians the power to decide themselves in a Carbon Tax Election, but they didn’t. The Liberal-NDP-Bloc coalition instead abandoned their constituents and decided to prop up the historically unpopular Liberal Prime Minister in the twilight of his disastrous government. In fact, since Jagmeet Singh was elected to Parliament, the NDP have voted with Trudeau on 93% of confidence votes.

70 percent of Canadians oppose Justin Trudeau’s April 1st tax hike and 70 percent of provincial premiers – including the Liberal Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador and provincial Liberal parties in Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick – have asked the Prime Minister to stop this painful tax increase before it’s too late. But the truth is that the costly coalition is no longer listening to Canadians.

Canadians now know that Justin Trudeau, alongside his carbon tax coalition partners in the NDP and the Bloc, are directly responsible for the economic misery that Canadians will face this year. Already, food banks are expecting to see a million more people use their facilities on top of last year’s record high, while a third of food banks say they will have to turn hungry Canadians away.

Justin Trudeau has created the worst economic conditions since the great depression and Canadians have lost faith in his government. Only Common Sense Conservatives will axe the tax and bring home lower prices for everyone.
