Tears for Fears heading to Artpark in June
JOHN LAW
Tears for Fears will try to rule Artpark again.
A year after the English duo was forced to cancel its 2016 summer tour because of family illness, Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith have wedged in a June 14 Artpark date. It will be a stand-alone show while the band is on tour with Hall & Oates this summer.
It makes up for a July 19 show that was cancelled at the Lewiston, N.Y., venue last summer. Lynyrd Skynyrd was booked as the replacement.
The Shout and Everybody Wants to Rule the World chart toppers had a bitter parting in the early ’90s before reforming in 2000, touring extensively since.
Tickets for the Artpark show — part of the Tuesdays in the Park series — are advance US$17 and go on sale today at 10 a.m.
Artpark added two other shows to its Tuesday series this week: Loverboy & Kim Mitchell July 11, and Gov’t Mule with Galactic Aug. 8. Both shows are advance US$12 admission, on sale today.
General admission tickets increase by $5 the week of the show.
Previously announced shows include ZZ Top June 6, Blondie & Garbage July 25, George Thorogood & .38 Special Aug. 1, and Lynyrd Skynyrd Aug. 15.
Tickets are on sale for all previously announced shows at artpark.net, ticket.com, or by phone at 1-888-223-6000.
