Warrant issued for suspected thief
Police are looking for Trevor Herdman, a 33-year-old Thorold resident, after an investigation into a residential break and enter in the Vineland area turned up more than $60,000 worth of stolen property.
On August 17, members of the St. Catharines Street Crime Unit and uniform patrol officers were led to a Thorold address where they recovered the property, including a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 valued at $40,000, a homemade trailer valued at $6,500, a 2006 Suzuki ATV valued at $6,000, numerous power tools valued at $4,000, 61 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $6,000 and $780 in Canadian currency.
The suspect returned to the address while police were on scene and fled after noticing police presence.
He was last seen accelerating at a high speed towards the 406, police say. A warrant has been issued for Herdman’s arrest for three counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000; driving while disqualified; dangerous operation of a motor vehicle; flight from police; two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking; possession of proceeds of crime; and three counts of failure to comply with his recognizance.
Herman is actively evading his arrest.
Anyone with information which may assist in this investigation or who knows the whereabouts of Herdman is asked to contact the Niagara Regional Police at 905-6884111 ext. 4272.
