Honeymoon Suite wants stolen musical equipment returned

Honeymoon Suite is hoping they don’t need new gear now.

The latest tour for the iconic Niagara Falls band hit a rough patch this week when a bunch of musical equipment, including two guitars, was stolen near Fort Erie.

Singer Johnnie Dee, who lives in Crystal Beach, says he was loading up his truck Tuesday night for a stretch of shows across Canada. “I went inside for no more than one hour to finish packing, and upon returning to the truck in my driveway it was all gone,” he said in a message to The Review.

Dee took to Facebook Wednesday with a description of everything swiped, including: - A black Squire Telecaster - A black Fender Telecaster - Two Shure GLXD guitar wireless systems - A Line 6 wireless system - A Line 6 M3 Stompbox - A Boss ME-50 pedal board “Webelievethiswasatargetedtheft and somebody knows something,” Dee wrote, attaching a photo of his guitar in its new hardshell case.

“All the suit cases are labeled HMS (Honeymoon Suite) and have bright orange tape on them.”

On Thursday, Dee had another Facebook message for the thief: Return the equipment and “there will be no hard feelings” and “no police.”

He said the gear could be dropped off at Mike’s Variety store in the Crystal Beach circle area at any time.

“I ask you one last time, please return it as you are aware it was all labeled and documented and it is on a lot of people’s minds,” Dee pleaded. “I cannot determine what others will do if they happen to see you with it.

“Please note, this theft has been broadcast to thousands of people in the industry and at this point all this gear is virtually useless to you and won’t bring you any cash.”

Dee’s post had nearly 600 shares by Friday afternoon.

“I simply want the gear back,” Dee stressed. “Nobody will be able to use it, sell it, etc.

“As you know, we are in full tour mode, flying every week. They stole my signature guitar, my backup, and all the band’s back line … including mine and Derry (Grehan’s) custom pedal boards, wireless miss, everything we use to work and put on our high impact, high energy shows.”
