In their match, the Hammerheads played, and almost succeeded, at being the spoiler as P. J. Cole lit up the lanes for a feisty 829 ( 208, 290, 331) while getting help from Paul Asselin’s 771 ( 238, 252, 281) and Rich Vassos whoa added 744 ( 273, 285).

The Canucks fought back with Rob Fisher’s 755 ( 234, 253, 268) while Rob MacDonald followed closely with 749 ( 231, 325).

The third- place Crossfire Wrestling Piledrivers held on to their spot despite being edged 2- 1 by the Dale Mellway Life Insurance Magic in a match decided by only 74 pins.

The Magic pulled off their trickery by virtue of Brian McFarlane who shot a sparkling 814 ( 309, 259, 246) while Mickey Pikor backed him up with 641 ( 216, 225).

The Piledrivers shot back with Chantal Papineau’s fine 746 ( 288, 252, 206) and Frank Newman’s 676 ( 232, 227).

Matt Kowalyk took the reins for the Whiners, rolling a stellar 808 ( 281, 303, 224).

Not to be outdone, Tyler Wendel showed why he continues to lead the Men’s High Average race as he shot the fourth best total of the season for the Lightning, a fantastic 907 ( 320, 262, 325).
