Next year’s Niagara Falls Comic Con is starting to resemble a WWE Hall of Fame reunion.

Former women’s division champions Trish Stratus and Amy Dumas ( a. k. a. Lita) have been announced for next year’s show. Dumas was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year while Stratus joined in 2013.

They join a previously announced WWE guest list that includes Hall of Famers Greg Valentine and Ric Flair, along with Brutus Beefcake and The Honky Tonk Man.

Comic Con co- owner Chris Dabrowski says he’s also “finalizing details” on another WWE legend who would be the biggest wrestling star in Comic Con’s eight- year history.

Past wrestling icons at the show have included Bret Hart, Mick Foley, Jake ‘ The Snake’ Roberts and — last year — Sting.

“Since Day 1 we have brought in a wide variety of guests covering as many genres as possible, and we have always made wrestling legends a key component of a yearly lineup,” says Dabrowski. “( Next) year will be no exception.”

During her seven years with the WWE, Stratus won the women’s championship seven times ( still a record), the last one being her retirement match against Lita in her hometown of Toronto.

In 2008 she opened a Toronto yoga studio called Stratosphere, and the following year won the Top Choice Award for Business Woman of the Year.

Stratus is no stranger to Niagara Falls, appearing at the grand opening of the WWE Niagara Falls store on Clifton Hill in 2002. She made two subsequent appearances at the store, which closed in 2011 and is now Niagara Brewing Co. Lita, one of the most technically accomplished female wrestlers in WWE history, won the women’s title four times. She was both a tag team partner and rival with Stratus throughout her career.

The two are close friends in retirement, dubbing themselves ‘ Team Bestie.’ Niagara Falls will mark a rare Canadian appearance together.

Other guests already announced for the 2018 Comic Con include Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Jonathan Frakes, Cheers’ duo George Wendt and John Ratzenberger, and Gilligan’s Island star Dawn Wells.

Artists announced so far include Neal Adams ( Batman), Glenn Fabry ( Preacher) and Tony Moore ( The Walking Dead).

The show will be at Scotiabank Convention Centre June 1 to 3. Tickets are available at www.nfcomiccon.com.
