Schedule announced for NYE celebration
Niagara Parks Commission and the City of Niagara Falls have released the schedule for this year’s New Year’s Eve celebration at Queen Victoria Park.
The all- Canadian musical concert will kick off with two artists who have been making their mark on the Canadian and American country music scenes, as two- time country pop female vocalist of the year Jess Moskaluke and emerging country stars James Barker Band take the stage. Musical performances will also include multi- platinum- selling, Montreal- bred band Simple Plan and Juno award- winning, Vancouverbased band Marianas Trench.
The free show will begin at 8 p. m. The outdoor celebration, which is also a partnership with local tourism associations and businesses, will feature two fireworks shows, with the falls serving as the backdrop, as well as a variety of food and beverage options including an outdoor licensed area.
The first fireworks show is set to take place at 9 p. m., while the second show will ring in the new year as the clock strikes midnight.
Janice Thomson, chairwoman of Niagara Parks Commission, said Queen Victoria Park will be “the place to be” New Year’s Eve.
“It really will be exciting to see so many people celebrating the new year together, here in one of Canada’s most iconic and beloved tourism destinations, Niagara Parks,” she said.
Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati said New Year’s Eve has become an “amazing” tradition in the city.
“We are thrilled to offer an exciting show again this year and we want you to come and enjoy it with us. We look forward to celebrating the traditions of the season, like the Winter Festival of Lights, and the true Canadian experience of a New Year’s Eve outdoor concert, complete with outstanding entertainment and ringing in the new year.” For more information, visit niagaraparks. com/ nye.
