Betty White, 95, reveals secrets of her longevity

-

Betty White claims vodka and hot dogs are her secret to living longer.

The five- time Primetime Emmy Award winner, who will turn 96 on Jan. 17, also credits her longevity to simply focusing on positive things, rather than negative thoughts.

“Accentuate the positive, not the negative,” she told Parade magazine. “It sounds so trite, but a lot of people will pick out something to complain about, rather than say, ‘ Hey, that was great!’ It’s not hard to find great stuff if you look.”

The former Golden Girls star also opened up about her eating habits, and dismissed trendy health foods and fads, instead opting for food she loves, namely vodka and hot dogs, “probably in that order.”

White’s career has spanned more than 70 years, with TV shows such as Mary Tyler Moore, The Bold and The Beautiful and Boston Legal, and movies including The Proposal with Sandra Bullock and You Again alongside Kristen Bell and Jamie Lee Curtis.

And the veteran actress has some advice for up- and- coming stars in Hollywood, telling them to “do their work.”

“Learn your lines and come in prepared,” she said. “Don’t think you can wing it, because you can’t. We’re in show business, which is fun, but take your business seriously, because it is a serious business.”

White also has one birthday wish that she’s tried to fulfil for many years: to finally meet her celebrity crush, Robert Redford.

White has had the wish on her bucket list for a long time, but her efforts to meet the suave Hollywood actor have never come to fruition.

“It never works,” she said, “I try every year.”

Gwyneth Paltrow has confirmed she is set to wed again after posing for a new Goop Magazine photoshoot with her fiancé, Brad Falchuk.

Paltrow hit headlines in November amid reports suggesting TV producer Falchuk had quietly proposed to her months earlier, and on Monday, the news was made official as the first images from their black- and- white engagement shoot were released to the media.

In the cover image, obtained by U. S. news show Good Morning America, Falchuk hugs Paltrow from behind as they both sport wide smiles and matching white T- shirts, while another shot inside the magazine features the Glee cocreator kissing his bride- to- be on the cheek as they embrace, with the Oscar winner’s new ring clearly displayed as she rests her left hand on his shoulder.

“We feel incredibly lucky to have come together at this juncture in our lives when our collective successes and failures can serve as building blocks for a healthy and happy relationship,” they shared in a joint statement.

The special announcement for Paltrow’s Goop Magazine was also accompanied by an onset video, in which Falchuk explains they are big “foodies,” but can never agree on where to dine out.

Asked what they will still be arguing about when they’re 90, Falchuk says, “Where should we go have dinner, always,” before Paltrow steps into the frame to fix his upturned collar for the camera.

They have been dating since late 2014, going public with the romance in April 2015, as they attended a 50th birthday party for Paltrow’s Iron Man co- star, Robert Downey, Jr.

The marriage will be the second for Paltrow, 45 — she wed Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in 2003 and they announced their “conscious uncoupling” in early 2014. Their divorce was finalized last year, but they have remained close to co- parent their daughter Apple, 13, and son Moses, 11, even enjoying a recent family vacation together in Antigua.

Falchuk was also previously married to fellow TV producer Suzanne Falchuk, the mother of their two children, son Brody and daughter Isabella.
