- JOHN LAW jlaw@ postmedia. com

Former Dragon’s Den investor Vikram Vij will be the next celebrity chef to spice things up for the Tastes in Niagara series.

The Indian- born Canadian chef will appear at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse on Fallsview Boulevard March 21, where he’ll work with the restaurant chefs to prepare a four- course meal. In addition to a meet- and- greet for patrons he’ll also appear at an after- dinner party.

Regular tickets will be $ 119.99, with VIP tickets at $ 249.99.

It’s much the same format, and price, as celebrity chef Michael Smith’s appearance at the venue in November.

Organized by Fallsview Events, Tastes in Niagara has previously hosted Italian chef David Rocco and professional mixologist Kevin Brauch.

Director of events Chris Dabrowski is hoping to bring Smith back for another appearance this spring.

Vij appeared on Season 9 of Dragon’s Den, owns three restaurants in British Columbia, and has released three books, most recently 2017’ s A Chef’s One- way Ticket to Canada With Indian Spices in his Suitcase. He has also appeared as a judge on Chopped Canada.

“Vikram appeals to foodies, as well as business professionals and entrepreneurs,” says Dabrowski. “We think the evening will be enjoyable and informative. Business meets pleasure.”

The event runs from 5 p. m. to midnight. For tickets, visit www.fallsviewevents.com.
