Japanese skater first to fail drug test
The first athlete to fail a doping test is Japanese short- track speedskater Kei Saito. He tested positive for the banned substance acetalozamide, which is a masking agent. The Japanese Olympic committee says the test was administered on Feb. 4 during training, and he was asked to leave the Olympic Village.
“I am extremely shocked by the test results that have come back,” Saito said in a statement, via USA Today.
