RUSSIAN GAMES?

-

Still furious about being forced to compete under a neutral flag because of a doping ban, Russian officials came up with a solution: hold their own games after Pyeongchang ends.

About 70 athletes will compete across Russia and there will be prizes. The events will include skiing, biathlon, bobsled, short track and speedskating because the doping ban impacted those sports the most.

“The Olympic Games are underway, and we are cheering for our athletes. … However, athletes who were not admitted to the Olympics … because of a vociferous political campaign unleashed against our country, suffered even more,” Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev told TASS.
