Bachman & Turner to let it ride at Seneca Casino

Half of the iconic Canadian rock band Bachman Turner Overdrive will play the Seneca Niagara Casino in May.

Now touring as Bachman & Turner, the duo of Randy Bachman and Fred Turner will rock the Events Center stage May 25. Tickets start at US$ 45, on sale noon Friday ( Feb. 23).

Starting with the single Let It Ride from the band’s second album, Bachman Turner Overdrive — more efficientl­y known as BTO — were one of the country’s biggest rock bands of the ’ 70s, even topping the U. S. charts with You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet in 1974.

Among their other huge radio hits: Roll On Down the Highway, Hey You and their most enduring song, Takin’ Care of Business.

For Bachman, BTO was his second huge Canadian band after co- founding The Guess Who.

Also announced by the Seneca Casino this week was the ‘ Queen of Mean’ Lisa Lampanelli for two shows at its more intimate venue, the Bear’s Den Showroom, May 18 and 19. Known for her blunt no- holdsbarre­d style, Lampanelli has had several TV comedy special and hosts a weekly podcast, Get Stuffed With Lisa Lampanelli. The two Seneca shows are for mature audiences only. Tickets start at US$ 65.

Also added to the Bear’s Den lineup is the tribute show We’ve Only Just Begun: Carpenters Remembered on May 11, celebratin­g one of pop music’s most successful duos of all time.
