It’s a home and garden show which truly feels like coming home.

When Scotiabank Convention Centre opened in Niagara Falls in 2011, the venue’s very first convention — the Greater Niagara Home and Garden Show — was free to the public. About 30,000 people checked it out.

Since then, the spring tradition has been one of the convention centre’s anchor events, attracting about 10,000 people annually over three days.

Organized by San Antonio-based Show Technology Productions, this year’s show runs March 23 to 25 and will feature celebrity guest Paul Lafrance of HGTV shows “Home to Win” and “Disaster Decks.” The company stages about 25 home and garden shows a year, with Niagara Falls being the only Canadian edition.

“The Greater Niagara Home and Garden Show has been an extremely popular consumer show at Scotiabank Convention Centre since we opened in 2011,” says convention centre president Noel Buckley.

“Out 2018 version next weekend promises to deliver all of the home improvement ideas for everything Niagara residents need for all home, garden and outdoor improvements.”

In addition to more than 100 exhibitors, the show will feature gardening expert Frank Ferragine (Frankie Flowers), live bird of prey shows, and continuous seminars on the hour.

The show runs Friday 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $8 adults, $7 seniors and free for 16 and under. See more at www.niagarahomeandgardenshow.ca.
