LYNCH, Jack Patrick Squadron Leader (retired)
Passed away peacefully at Heritage Green Nursing Home on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at the age of 98. Predeceased by his first wife Evelyn Larsen (1948). Beloved husband of the late Blanche (2009) for 58 years. Cherished father of Patrick (Joanne) Lynch of Grimsby, Carol-Anne Lynch (Phil Kozuh) of Burlington, Kathy (late Bob) Nickel of Grimsby, Bonnie (Rick) Derbecker of Brampton and the late Suzanne Lynch (2016). Treasured grandfather of PJ, Cheryl, Kit, Kathryn, Joshua, Scott, Alyssa, Jill (Dan) and Janice (Noel) and great-grandfather of Jake, Samantha, Christien, Etian, Charbel, Ally, Maria and the late Joanna. Dear brother of the late Jim (late Doris) Lynch, Gert (late John) Gerrard, the late Gene (Gladys) Lynch, the late Reg (late Florence) Lynch, Ray (Teresa) Lynch and the late Bill Lynch. Brother-inlaw of the late Bill (Mable) Tyler, Ralph (Joanne) Tyler and Eric (Gay) Tyler. Long-time friend to the late Don (late Shirley) Prentice. Jack will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, and good family friend and former bridge partner, Don Roberts of Grimsby. Jack began his military career in 1941 and worked on various bases in Canada and overseas for several years, retiring in 1968. He then went into teaching math at Beamsville Secondary School, retiring in 1984. Following his retirement, Jack divided his time between Grimsby and Florida, enjoying his hobbies of golf and bridge and attending all the social events that Blanche arranged for them. Visitation at STONEHOUSEWHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Friday, March 23, 2018, from 3:00 - 5:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Prayer Vigil Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 135 Livingston Avenue, Grimsby, on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 12:00 noon. Cremation to follow with interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
