It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Nellie Dekker, on April 5, 2018 at Northland Pointe at the age of 90. She has gone to be with our dad (Matt Dekker) after being apart for almost 24 years (1994). She will be greatly missed by her children Jerry, John (Annie), Henny Gillam, Matt (Marga), Diana Williams, Julia de Boer (Bonno), Annette Hennigar (Vern), Linda Racik (George) and Sandy Feller (Jaap). Loving Oma to her grandchild­ren Tony, Matt, Carolyn, Jeanette, Keith, James, Truda, Maartje, Sanne, Thijs Jan, Jet, Jennifer, Cathy, Christina, John, Kaleigh, PaTricia, Charlie, Ryan, Arend and Mandy. Also survived by great-grandchild­ren Rylie, William, Pria, Nathan, Hanao, Ayumu, Eudora, Isaac, Jamielyn and Cassandra. Predecease­d by her two sisters and six brothers, she is survived by her sister Marie Wester and brother Sam Ruiter (Maria). Also survived by inlaws Mary de Ruyte (Frank), Renny Dekker, Bert Dekker (Joy), Jack Dekker (Linda), Fred Dekker (Ruth) and Vron Dekker (Holland). Nellie has many relatives here and around the world. The Dekker family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be held in the Funeral Home on Monday at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 123 King Street, Port Colborne at 10:00 a.m. with Father Wieslaw Woloszyn officiatin­g. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery, Port Colborne. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Northland Pointe Auxillary or the Alzheimer Society.
