Virtue, Moir and friends coming to St. Catharines
The figure skating pair that captured the nation’s, and the world’s, attention, in addition to earning a gold medal during the 2018 Winter Olympics, will be taking to the ice in St. Catharines this fall.
Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, along with other members of the gold medal-winning Olympic figure skating team — Patrick Chan, Meagan Duhamel and
Eric Radford and Kaetlyn Osmond — will embark on a national tour, the Thank You Canada Tour, kicking off in October. Joining them on the tour is a two-time Olympic medallist and three-time world champion
Elvis Stojko.
The tour will make its way to downtown St. Catharines for a stop at Meridian Centre Nov. 4.
Tickets for the event are on sale at thethankyoucanadatour.ca, or in person at the Meridian Centre box office on Monday at noon.
“After a career that has taken us to many corners of the world, it’s thrilling to return to Canada and celebrate with those who have supported us every step of the way,” said Virtue. “Our hope is to inspire a new generation to pursue their goals fearlessly.”
Moir added it’s a great time in their careers to say thank you to Canadians and acknowledge the “unwavering and unconditional support we’ve received over the years.”
The tour starts Oct. 5 in Abbotsford, B.C., and finishes up Nov. 24 in St. John’s, N.L.
