STRANGES, Thomas “Tom”

Passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the age of 59. Beloved son of Fiorentina and the late Filippo Stranges. Dearly loved brother of Rose ((Luigino) Maruca, Maria (Gennaro) Scalese, Lena (John) Taylor and Tony (Karla) Stranges. Cherished uncle of Florence, Nick, Katerina (Keith), Anna (Fabio), Pietro (Valentina), Filippo (Cinzia) and Kayla and greatuncle of Beatrice, Laura, Gennaro, Federica and Layla. Tom had worked as a hairdresse­r for over 30 years, having owned and operated Hair Studio 2000 and then Thomas Philip Hair Salon. He had a special love for his clients and will be missed by all who knew him. Tom also had many other passions. He loved gardening and tending to his flowers, his backyard pond and walking down the Parkway and driving to Niagaraon-the-Lake. He also was a loyal and devoted fan of the Chicago Black Hawks, loved to cook and enjoyed going to Artpark concerts in Lewiston. Tom lived a very full life and left a legacy of love to his family and friends, for which he will be long remembered. Family and friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery. In memory of Tom, donations to The Niagara Health Foundation (Walker Family Cancer Centre) would be appreciate­d by his family.
