Cops halt exotic car tour in its tracks

-

It was supposed to be a five-hour tour in fancy cars along Niagara’s idyllic roads.

But instead the operator of an exotic car rental company and his customers were halted in their tracks and four of the cars were seized after several were allegedly clocked going more than 50 km/h over the speed limit.

On Wednesday, at about 11:45 a.m., Niagara Regional Police stopped six cars — including a Lamborghini, a McLaren and a Porsche — taking part in a five-hour tour of the region from Stoney Creek to Niagara Falls. The six cars are owned by Ultimate Exotics, which is based out of Stoney Creek, and are driven by customers on the VIP tour. Each driver has the opportunity to drive each of the exotic cars, switching at certain points along the way.

Police said in a media release they had received numerous complaints about speeding and had learned the tour would be taking place. Police were ready for them in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
