While the search for a new CEO is underway, interim leadership has been announced for Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre.

The board of trustees has announced Lynne Pay will assume the role of interim CEO and David Ceglie is assuming the role of interim executive vice-president. These new roles will be in addition to their current vice-president duties.

Details of the transition will be worked out in the next few weeks.

With 32 years of executive and managerial experience, both in the public and private sector, Pay has been with Hotel Dieu since 1999 and has acted as vice-president of corporate services since 2003. She holds an honours bachelor of arts degree from Brock University and a law degree from Osgoode Hall in Toronto.

Ceglie joined Hotel Dieu Shaver in 2005, working as an occupational therapist, manager, director and since 2015, vice-president of clinical operations. He earned his bachelor of health science from University of Western Ontario, his master’s of science in occupational therapy from D’Youville College and his master’s of business administration from Niagara University.

“We are appreciative of Lynne and David’s willingness to assume these additional roles through this period of transition and growth, building on the exceptional reputation you have all earned through the provision of exemplary service and care to the community we serve,” said Anne Atkinson, chair of the board of trustees, in a memo distributed to community partners.

On Aug. 1, Hotel Dieu Shaver announced Jane Rufrano would be retiring as CEO effective immediately. She had held the role since 2005 and led the organization through significant change, including the assumption of the Shaver Hospital/Niagara Rehab and its subsequent growth.
