Community work: Port Cares, Lockview Community Garden, Derek Point, DSBN Academy (Port Colborne students), Port Colborne Minor Baseball Association
Top issue: Building capacity for business development and growth
Why are you running?: I declared my candidacy for mayor of Port Colborne because I believe council and staff should be about identifying our city’s challenges and working together in good faith to address them. This means making real investments to create capacity for and attracting new businesses, supporting local businesses, developing support for youth and seniors and fostering a community where all families can thrive.
Why should voters choose you?: I am not a career politician but a citizen politician. I don’t need the job but I want the job. The status quo is the problem and an action orientation is required to build a better tomorrow. Age:

Community work: Chair Downtown PC BIA, member of economic development advisory committee, member of Canal Days committee

Why are you running?: After years of being stalled, I believe it’s time that Port Colborne reaches the potential it deserves.
Why voters should choose you?: I offer the experience, commitment, vision and integrity to get the job done. I believe it’s time to leave the status quo behind.
Bill Steele
Age: 56
Occupation: Owner C.M. Steele Insurance Brokers Ltd.
Family: Wife Debby, sons Mitch, Mack and Riley
Previous political experience: Served as Ward 1 councillor from 1996-2014
Community involvement: I have served as president of the Port Colborne Lions Club, Port Colborne Jaycees and Port Colborne Minor Hockey Association. I am a member of the Port Colborne Golden Puck Hockey committee, Niagara South Insurance Brokers Association, Ontario General Insurance Hockey Tournament for Big Brothers Big Sisters and Autism Niagara. I served as a board member for the Ontario Trillium Foundation and Niagara College Foundation.
Why are you running?: I am running for mayor of Port Colborne because I want to see our city grow and prosper, while diligently looking after our infrastructure, most importantly water and sewer. As your new mayor, I will lead our city council and staff to do a better job marketing our city and looking after the needs of our citizens. As well, I will bring respect back to the Region of Niagara.
Why should voters choose you?: I am proud that I was born and raised in Port Colborne and that I will bring honesty and integrity to city hall. My vision for Port Colborne is to build on our strengths. I ask for your vote to make that happen, and to meet the challenges along the way.
