Vince expanding horizons in Nashville

- KRIS DUBÉ

A young country singer from Welland is raising her profile in the Music City, cowriting her latest song with the daughter of a globally-known superstar.

Ashlynne Vince moved to Nashville, Tenn., about a year ago and has been performing shows at various venues most nights of the week.

Her newest single, “God Bless This House,” was created with the help of Allie Colleen Brooks, whose father is Garth Brooks. Meeting the fellow songwriter through a mutual friend, Vince had an idea to create an homage to a family friend named Willie, someone she grew close to as a child as he built the home in Welland that she lived in as a child.

“Because it’s such a personal song, I had a hard time writing it,” she says in a recent phone interview from her new city.

Hitting a stage as many nights as possible, she says the scene down south is one she can feel her career growing.

“I feel like the atmosphere is a lot different than the one back home,” says the 21-year-old.

Asked about what kind of extra attention might come from working with Brooks, Vince says it’s not something she’s banking on.

Vince released her first album “Tidal Wave” about five years ago and is now in the process of putting together her next one, which doesn’t have a targeted date for completion. Her new track will be available on all popular streaming services as well as on satellite radio.
