Newspaper coverage instrumental in election

I would like to extend a huge vote of thanks to The Welland Tribune for making it easy for me to become an informed voter for our October municipal elections.

The thorough coverage provided by your newspapers and the comprehensive reporting on the major issues, including the problems with the governance of the Regional Municipality of Niagara, as well as with the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, allowed me to make an informed choice at the polling station.

I believe the coverage provided by our local newspapers was vital to bringing about some much needed change in our two local levels of government, municipal and regional.

We are fortunate to have such outstanding reporting of the facts, as well as great editorial commentary as well.

Prior to the election, I also attended a few council meetings (regional and municipal) to get a first-hand view of the shenanigans the newspapers were reporting on, and believe me, it was an eye-opener.

I am truly grateful the cabal has been outed.

Please keep up the good work as our newly elected officials take up their official duties, and don’t let them forget they are there to serve the people, not the other way around.
