Heroin and fentanyl seized in Port drug bust
Three facing numerous drug-related crimes
Three Port Colborne residents face numerous drug charges related to the alleged sale of heroin and fentanyl, said Niagara Regional Police.
Police said members of the Morality Unit were investigating the sale of drugs from a Mellanby Avenue address in Port Colborne over the last month.
During the investigation, police identified a male responsible for the sale of drugs from this residence and observed him making suspected drug deals while mobile in a vehicle.
In a release, police said on Wednesday, at approximately
2:10 p.m., the suspect left his Mellanby Avenue residence and picked up two other people in Port Colborne.
“After leaving that residence, uniform officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the three individuals who were in the vehicle. At approximately 2:30 p.m. a search warrant was executed by members of the Morality unit, Guns Gangs and Grows Unit, and the Opioid Unit at the Mellanby Avenue residence,” the release said.
Both the home and vehicle were searched by police, who seized $6,000 worth of purple-tinted fentanyl and heroin, oxycodone and $900 in currency, believed to be the proceeds of the drug sales.
Trevor Eden, 33, was charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime; James McCoy, 51, and Kasandra Roesch, 34, were charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
All three were held for a bail hearing Thursday.
