8:18 PM | A white Toyota Tercel driven by a 77-year-old Kitchener woman was southbound on Wilmot-Easthope Road in Wilmot Township, slowing down to turn into the driveway of the Nith River Campground. At the same time a silver Mitsubishi Lancer driven by a 17-year-old New Hamburg youth was northbound on Wilmot-Easthope Road. The Tercel turned left into the path of the Mitsubishi, which struck it. The driver of the Tercel was unconsciou­s and had to be extricated by firefighte­rs. The driver of the Mitsubishi received minimal injuries, while a passenger in the car was transporte­d to Grand River Hospital. The investigat­ion is continuing and charges are pending.
