8:18 PM | A white Toyota Tercel driven by a 77-year-old Kitchener woman was southbound on Wilmot-Easthope Road in Wilmot Township, slowing down to turn into the driveway of the Nith River Campground. At the same time a silver Mitsubishi Lancer driven by a 17-year-old New Hamburg youth was northbound on Wilmot-Easthope Road. The Tercel turned left into the path of the Mitsubishi, which struck it. The driver of the Tercel was unconscious and had to be extricated by firefighters. The driver of the Mitsubishi received minimal injuries, while a passenger in the car was transported to Grand River Hospital. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
