Police charge man with murder of Wellesley woman and her daughter

-

POLICE HAVE CHARGED WITH murder a man arrested last week in connection with the 2011 disappearance of Wellesley Township resident Linda Daniel and her daughter Cheyenne, who were 47 and 13 respectively at the time.

Glenn Kraemer Bauman, 43, was arrested Aug. 19 in Alberta by Waterloo Regional Police detectives backed by the RCMP. He is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of offering an indignity to a body.

Regional police report that at the time of the victims’ disappearance, Bauman was in a common-law relationship with Linda Daniel.

In December of 2015, Waterloo Regional Police received information from family members that neither Linda nor Cheyenne had been seen or heard from since July 2011. Police commenced an investigation into their disappearance and, as a result of information gathered, believed that the two may have been the subject of foul play.

As a result of what they call a “complex and ongoing investigation,” Waterloo Regional Police, in cooperation with the RCMP in Alberta, identified a male suspect believed to be responsible for their disappearance.

Bauman was arrested last week on a Canada-wide warrant in Valleyview, Alberta, approximately three hours northwest of Edmonton.

He was initially detained in Alberta, but was returned to Waterloo Region to appear via video Monday at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kitchener on Monday to face criminal charges.

Police report that homicide detectives along with forensic identification officers will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and deaths of Linda and Cheyenne Daniel in the coming months. Investigators are appealing to the public for information that may assist in identifying timelines and contact with all of the individuals involved.

Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to contact the Ho- micide Branch at 519-6537700, ext. 8666 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-8477.
