MENNOHOMES FUNDRAISER BBQ AND Concert to support “A Place to Call Home - Creating new barrier-free affordable rental housing in Elmira;” 3-6 p.m. Music by Larry Lesperance & Friends, and the Zion Mennonite Band. BBQ: Hamburgers, hot dogs, drinks, chips. All proceeds go to MennoHomes. Cash, cheques, and credit card info accepted with tax receipts for all donations. Please come and support your community. THE NINTH ANNUAL LIONS Fishing Derby will be held at the Albert Erb Conservation Area in Wellesley on Labour Day. Registration is at 8 a.m. ($7 fee per angler). The derby runs from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.. A cash prize of $150 will be awarded for the first tagged fish caught. Prizes and trophies will be awarded. For more information, call 519-656-3474.

THE WOOLWICH COMMUNITY LIONS Club is hosting two events in the Foodland parking lot (Arthur Street, Elmira) from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Drive A Ford event: come out and take a car for a test drive (one test drive per household). Ford will donate $20 to Woolwich Lions for each test drive up to a maximum of $6,000. Classic Car Show and Shine from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. $5 entry fee/dashboard plaque for the first 30 cars.
