of the BMW was charged with ‘careless driving.’ Both vehicles suffered moderate damage, but there were no injuries. 2:45 PM | Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Victoria Street near Breslau. A southbound tractor trailer, being driven by a 69-year-old Stratford resident, and a southbound E-bike, which was being driven by a 50-year-old Kitchener man. As a result of apparent road rage, the E-bike driver was allegedly cut off and forced off the road. He was thrown off his bike, receiving minor injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was charged with ‘dangerous driving’ and, after a vehicle inspection was conducted, was also charged with having ‘no brake lights,’ ‘no directiona­l signals’ and ‘fail to have insurance card.’ The driver of the E-bike was charged with ‘operate motor vehicle with no insurance,’ ‘drive motor vehicle with no permit’ and ‘driving under suspension.’ Any witnesses to this collision are asked to call Waterloo Regional Police at 519-653-7700, ext. 4499.

JULY 21

11:25 AM | A 17-year-old Waterloo man was driving a red Ford SUV northbound on Hutchinson Road in Wellesley Township. The driver attempted to turn onto Weimer Line but failed to negotiate the turn. The vehicle left the roadway, hit a stop sign and a tree. The 48-year-old female passenger, also from Waterloo, was taken to hospital by ambulance, having sustained a broken arm. The driver was charged with ‘turn not in safety.’ The vehicle was towed from the scene.

JULY 23

12:00 AM | A 23-year-old Windsor man was driving a red Hyundai SUV on Notre Dame Drive in Wilmot Township when he lost control of his vehicle on the bend between Berlett’s Road and Moser Young Road, drove off the roadway and struck a hydro pole, severing it in half. When police arrived, their investigat­ion led them to arrest the driver for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. The driver was transporte­d to hospital with minor injuries. As a result of the investigat­ion, he was charged with the Criminal Code offence of ‘failure to provide a breath sample.’ 3:00 PM | County of Wellington OPP was dispatched to a break-in at a residence on Wellington Road 86, near Ariss, where an unknown suspect forced open a garage door before forcing open an interior door and accessing the home. Initial estimates indicate that approximat­ely $3,000 in jewellery and cash were stolen. The OPP are looking for a silver SUV involved with the theft. Later, police were dispatched to a second break-and-enter at a residence on Wellington Road 86, near Ariss. Unknown suspect accessed the home through a rear patio door. Suspects rummaged through the home, however no property has been identified as stolen.
