Jacks’ director dies in collision

Paul MacDonald, a member of the Wellesley Applejacks’ board of directors who was in charge of game-day operations, died last week in a motorcycle accident while on vacation in Tennessee. He was 63.

“It is a sad day for the Wellesley Applejacks and the community of Wellesley. Paul MacDonald, one of our own, passed away today. He was a key member of our Board of Directors and the face of our Game Day Operations. His kind spirit, quick wit and his sense of fun made everyone around him smile. He will be incredibly missed. Our hearts are broken. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family,” the Jacks said in a statement.

MacDonald, an employee of the Region of Waterloo, was said to of had a great wit and sense of humour, and could be seen to enjoy friends, family and his two grandsons.

A celebratio­n of life will be held on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. at the Wellesley Community Centre.
