5:25 PM | Wellington County OPP received a report of a theft of a tan-coloured 2008 GMC Sierra pickup truck from Sideroad 14 in Guelph-Eramosa Township. The owner of the vehicle reported leaving the truck at approximately 3 p.m. with the keys in the ignition to return to his house. When he returned at approximately 5:20 p.m. the truck was gone. To help prevent future incidents, the police remind everyone about the “lock it or lose it” campaign, a crime prevention program that advises the public to lock their vehicles and remove any valuables and keys from within. Those actions help reduce the motivation and likelihood of this type of property crime.
